King Schools - "How Entrepreneurial Leaders Can Contribute to Aviation Safety"

Presented by John and Martha King, co-founders, King Schools

Listen in as the Kings share their passion for both aviation and entrepreneurship. During the presentation, John and Martha will discuss the habits that give an entrepreneur the resources that will allow them to combine those passions into a business to profitably improve the safety practices of the aviation community. This broadcast uses the entrepreneurial history of John and Martha King, as discussed in their recent book LIFT: How To Start, Run and Grow Your Own Successful Business.

The book explains that contrary to popular belief, entrepreneurs achieve success by seeking out and taking care of the needs of others including customers, fellow workers, and vendors.

It further explains how habits that promote entrepreneurship include passion, lots of interests, and always learning.

This talk will help you explore how to do this based on your own interests, skills, and abilities using the history of King Schools as an example.

Lightspeed Aviation - "Hearing Help and Safety for the Aging Pilot"

Presented by Gregory Ricca, MD, CFI and Ron Timmermans, CFI

Hearing acuity diminishes over time, and it diminishes with prolonged exposure to noise. Hearing losses can lead to fatigue as well which frustrates all of us. For pilots this can potentially lead to unsafe flying conditions. Having clear communications is essential to safe piloting. And, have you ever experienced an emergency where Carbon Monoxide was present in your cockpit? This is a major safety concern for pilots of piston aircraft and can result in deadly consequences.

Join Ron Timmermans, Pilot and CFI, and Dr. Gregory Ricca, Physician, Pilot, and CFI, as they discuss these important topics of hearing loss as we age and the use of carbon monoxide detection in your airplane. They will highlight tools pilots can use to improve their hearing, lengthen their career in the cockpit and gain confidence in hearing critical communications as well as protection from carbon monoxide. And they will demonstrate the new Lightspeed Aviation Delta Zulu Safety Wearable which addresses both of these pilot concerns. This presentation is available for WINGS credit.

Inspiring Pilots to Lifelong Learning & Proficiency,”

Presented by Jason Blair, DPE, CFII, MEI, ATP, and author.

Wouldn’t it be great if pilots committed themselves to continuous learning and routine proficiency training throughout their entire flying career?
